“Hi Mom,
Sweet, beautiful Mom. I miss you so much – so, so much. I want all to know about your true beauty and the gift that is, Nancy Bichai, the most precious and loving Mom in the world.
What’s it like, Mom, to lay in our Lord’s arms?
What’s it like to talk to the Holy Virgin Mary?
What’s it like to sit with the angels and saints? Your favorites – Baba Kyrillos, St. Bishoy, St. Abraam.
Mom, there just aren’t even enough words to express how much I love and miss you, to call you for anything, and you always pick up. Even in your own pain and suffering for the last 7 years you are always there…and you still are. I always tell everyone I am my mother’s son. Not only that, but we are best friends. We laugh together constantly joking, we go to Del Taco at 3am, exchange cooking recipes, confide, trust, and rely on one another, and above all we love each other.
I’m sitting here in your room, Mom. I see all your clothes, I can smell and feel you. I’m so sorry for everything you endured. God is a Man of His word. He specifically chooses special ones to suffer only what they are able to endure (1 Corinthians 10:13). He chose you as a test and you succeeded! No one would’ve known you were mightily being tested by your positive energy, laughter, and endless selflessness and love for everyone around you. You always put everyone else before you, and I’m so proud you are my Momma!
I look up to the heavens and talk to you every day, and I know you’re smiling and laughing. I look so forward to the day I get to once again rest my head on your chest as a little boy again. There is no greater love than a mother’s love for her children, and we feel every bit of it. I’m going to make you proud, Mom. I’m going to take care of all of our family. I promise you. My goal in life is to serve our Lord and to live a selfless life as you did as a true daughter of Christ. You carried your cross, not just for yourself, but for so many people. My hero!
